Squirrel in my owl house

Last year a screech owl moved in to the owl box that I made and put up 3 years ago--my first owl!  He proceeded to find a mate and have three adorable owl babies.  He showed up around Halloween (hence the name "boo").  I think he was a young owl because the males don't actually need the house until they mate but he was in the house a good 2 -3 months before the female came.

So this year I have a squirrel living in the house, he's definitely cute --peeking his little head out when I drive into the driveway like he's seeing who's coming to visit.  But he may also be driving away my owls.  I did some research (mostly previewing on Amazon until I got what I was looking for ; ) and learned that squirrels and screech owls can occupy the same box at different times of the year, hmmm.

An owl did visit the box several times over the past month, not Boo, but maybe one of his babies? I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
